The Ring 2002 Cast and Trailer

Parents should be aware that The Ring is a 2002 adaptation of a terrifying Japanese thriller. On-screen, four people and a horse die, with the possibility of many more tragic deaths throughout.

The story of The Ring is based on a true Japanese ghost story from the 16th century. “Based on a true story,? as with most films, means a minor boost in sales.

It appears to be just another urban legend: a videotape with terrifying pictures leads to a phone call foretelling the viewer’s death in exactly seven days. Rachel Keller (Naomi Watts), a newspaper reporter, is suspicious of the narrative until four adolescents suddenly die inexplicably one week after watching just such a tape. Rachel seeks down the video and watches it, allowing her investigative curiosity to get the best of her. She now has only seven days to solve the riddle.

Rachel falls into the well after the floor collapses, picturing Anna smothering Samara and dumping her down the well, where she died seven days later, her last sight a ring of daylight around the well’s cap.

The fabled Onryo, a Japanese ghost who emerges after dying in the grip of intense fury, returns as a very pale and corporeal ghost to seek vengeance on the living, is the type of ghost on whom Samara (and her Japanese counterpart Sadako) is based.

She is approximately eight years old.
She perished from drowning after spending seven days in the well. The horses at the Morgan ranch returned to normal when Samara died, but Richard chose to cease breeding them. She was about 8 years old when she died.

Additional filming took conducted in California, including Los Angeles, Santa Ana, Culver City, and Agoura. In the film, the Yaquina Head Lighthouse served as the site for the “Moesko Island Lighthouse.?
