The New Guy is a 2002 American teen comedy film written by David Kendall and directed by Ed Decter, starring DJ Qualls and Eliza Dushku.

Dizzy Harrison (Qualls) is a high school loser who gets expelled so that he can change schools and reinvent himself. He renames himself, Gil Harris, after learning how to be cool from a prison inmate. He is quick to make new acquaintances and quickly wins respect from jocks and geeks alike.

He falls in love with popular girl Danielle (Dushku) and unites a once-divided school while also significantly boosting its football team. Gil will eventually have to confront his demons from his previous school when they meet in a football game. The picture garnered mostly unfavorable reviews, although it did well at the box office.
